Christmas Time

Our first Christmas as a new family was one to remember, both for good reasons and sad. Mom and Dad came down to spend a few days with us and help out with Ada and housework. This was the first Christmas that we didn't attend Christmas Eve service, but with Ada only 10 days old we didn't want to risk anything.

Christmas Eve was tinged with sadness when we learned of Granny's passing. I had hoped that she might be able to meet Ada once before passing, but we did talk to her the day after Ada was born. We're sure that Gran was watching over all of us from heaven on Christmas day.

We enjoyed a quick breakfast on Christmas morning before setting up to open gifts. Of course we took copious amounts of pictures and video. I will say this, Christmas with a newborn is interesting. She got a lot of clothes along with a few books and toys for the future.

With Gran's passing, Mom and Dad had to take off early so they could regroup before heading to the funeral. So we pushed Christmas dinner up to Christmas lunch. All in all a great Christmas on the island.
